There are lots of techniques on how to best grill a fresh pizza on your outdoor bbq. In fact, ask 10 grillmasters and you’re likely to get 10 different answers (and a couple of blank stares). While some of the methods vary by grill-type (and you know your grill best) here are a few pointers to get you started.

Pizza Grilling Instructions - Indirect Heat:
  1. Fire up your grill and turn all burners on high. Shut the grill lid and heat until the grill reaches about 450 degrees.
  2. While waiting for your grill to heat-up, trim the corners of the provided baking paper (we wouldn’t want them falling into the flames)
  3. Turn half of the burners off and slide your pizza and baking paper on the grates over the burners you just turned off (no flames should be under the pizza). Close the lid ASAP, and keep closed for a minimum of 8 minutes.
  4. Check your pizza after 8-10 minutes and rotate as necessary. Immediately close the lid after rotating.
Pizza Grilling Instructions - Direct Heat With Elevated Pizza Grill Stone (i.e. PizzaQue):
  1. Place the pizza grill stone on your grill grates. Fire up your grill and turn all burners on medium. Shut the grill lid and heat until the grill and stone reach about 500 degrees (this will take a minimum of 30 minutes).
  2. While waiting for your grill to heat-up, trim the corners of the provided baking paper. (we wouldn’t want them falling into the flames)
  3. Once heated to the proper temperature, slide pizza and baking paper onto the stone. Close the lid.
  4. Your pizza should be finished after about 4-6 minutes.
